Commissions
Made for one person, from the first pour
A commission is the same work as a finished piece, with you deciding the shape, the stone and the colours before anything is mixed. Most of the pieces on this site started as one.
What can be asked for
Almost anything that can hold resin
If it is not on this list it does not mean no — it usually means nobody has asked yet.
- Serving trays
- Coasters
- Trinket and jewellery dishes
- Dice sets
- Chess boards
- Domino sets
- Clocks
- Dog tags
- Keychains
- Bookmarks
- Wall pieces and suncatchers
- Flowers from a bouquet, preserved
How it works
Three steps, then waiting
Nothing is charged before the design is agreed, and nothing is poured until you say yes.
- 01
You send the idea
A message with the list below. Photos help more than descriptions. I answer with what is possible and what it would cost.
- 02
We settle the design
Shape, size, stone, colour, finish and the date. You get one price with shipping before anything is mixed, and you can change your mind at no cost at this point.
- 03
It gets poured
Then cured, flattened, sanded and polished. A few weeks, depending on the cure and the queue. I send a photograph before it is packed.
What to put in the first message
- What the piece is for — a gift, a table, a pocket
- Rough size you have in mind, or the space it has to fit
- A colour or a stone, if one means something to you
- Any photo of the space, the flowers or the stone you want used
- When you need it by, if there is a date
Price
Size, the stone and how much hand-finishing a piece needs decide the price. A quote comes before the pour, in writing, with shipping included — no number on this page because a guess here would be wrong more often than right.
Time
A few weeks for most pieces, longer for a chess board or anything with a bouquet to press first. If you have a date, say it in the first message and I will tell you honestly whether it can be met.
What resin will not do
It is not for the dishwasher, the microwave or a hot pan, and it is not a food-contact surface. Coasters take cold and warm cups, not a saucepan off the stove. Saying so now saves a piece later.
Nothing here to buy yet
There is no basket on this site, on purpose. Finished pieces are claimed in a message, and commissions start there too. Both routes reach the same pair of hands.
